Snug Harbor

Good afternoon 3rd and 4th Grade parents,
On the day of the Snug Harbor trip, please send your child in with towel as Snug Harbor cannot guarantee that there will be enough seats for the children to eat lunch.
Additionally, if you plan on meeting class at Snug Harbor, you must be there promptly at 9:45 AM so you can walk in with the class.

Readers are Leaders

Good afternoon 4th grade families,
Fourth Grade is participating in Borough President Vito J. Fossella's 26th Annual "Readers are Leaders" Competition. This competition will take place from March 14, 2022 - April 15, 2022!
The goal is to read 5 books in 5 weeks.  This year, you are being asked to interpret/report on one book you have read in your own creative way. This could be a skit, diorama box, video, interview with a character, book report, or another creative way you would like.
There are some rules and guidelines that you will have to follow which can be found in your child's Google Classroom under the ELA topic, in an assignment titled Readers are Leaders. All the submissions will be viewed and ONE "Super Reader" student from the grade will have their project submitted to the Office of the Borough President!
If all the students in fourth grade submit their reading tracking sheet, the grade will be allowed to have a PIZZA PARTY!
Attached is a letter explaining this challenge in further detail with some great resources, including how to read books for free online, and the reading log for you to track your child's progress.
The assignment will be visible in Google classroom on Monday, March 14th at 8am.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Good luck to all the Leaders in the 4th Grade!!
